[SOLVED]Please, put me out of my misery! Lose internet after chroot.

I'm currently installing gentoo (for the first time) by following this tutorial; I have an onboard intel SATA Raid 0 setup and need to use dmraid and thats why. On step 6 I'm supposed to use emerge --sync to synch my portage tree, however I can't. The problem (I assume because wget doesn't work at this point) is that I'm not connected to the internet. Wget works during the first steps, but stops after I type this line of step 5: "chroot . /bin/bash --login", so I think that is where I lose it. What is happening!?

Do you have a static or dynamic IP?

From the ISP it is technically dynamic, but it remains mostly static from my experience. Oh, do I need to tell the router to give me a specific one?

That doesn't work either after the chroot. The command isn't found.
