    emerge ftping need it to http HOW???



    i think the title explains most of it

    so i know what to type http_proxy=" blah"
    but where ??

    Can't you just change your mirrors to use the http repos rather than the ftp repos?

    no, thats not the problem the problem is im behind a proxy and its trying to use a ftp proxy instead of a http proxy. If that is what your on about my question is HOW?? yes im still a Newb.
