failed to start display manager
hi i'll start from the beginning and end with the problem...
so i have an x86 archetecture and motherboard 865 which i am using the gentoo live cd as my mode of installment. so i stuck the cd in and booted it up and everything ran smoothly. it came to a nice gui progress bar with the gentoo logo on it. once the progress bar is finished i get an black screen showing some" ?? Hz " it is likely that there is some problem with the resolution . help me ....

My advise is to use the minimal livecd and use the handbook to do a manual install.
It just works. The livecd and all the installers are badly broken.
