Gentoo netowrk server
Looking deeper into the idea of using the Gentoo as my server (read: home network for computer science education, I have a few questions people here might be able to answer.
A: How well would Gentoo handle being a media streaming server?
B: As I not only want it to be a file/media server, I would like to boot two other computers from the server as, is feasible, diskless clients, hopefully graphical clients.
ltsp.org seems to have nice software, but does anyone have experience running this on Gentoo or should I look to another distro to handle my requests?[/url]

the portage systme has ltsp in its database, witch means that gentoo will run it wonderfly, emerge ltsp-core and you have it . Configuration looks like it will take some time, but you should be able to go diskless, but you might be better off bumming like 1.1 g disk from a used comp store at $15 a pop... hopefuly someone other than me will post here to verify or know something better than I do, so its not just my opionin, but you wont find many gentoo users who would leave gentoo for anything else.
