Gentoo on PPC G5 wont find root partition.
im running on a dual processor G5 that i recently installed gentoo on (which, btw, made the debian netinst look like a mac os X install!), and now it wont boot due to a kernal panic. Apparently, it cannot find the root partition that i told it to look for in yaboot.conf. i set root=hd:4, which failed, and also tried /dev/sda4, which is where it is located. it wasnt able to find either of them. any suggestions?
here are the error mssgs:
VFS: cannot open root device "sda4" or unkown block(0, 0)
please append a correct "root="; here are the available partitions:
0300 452284 hda driver: ide-cdrom
Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unkown-block(0,0)
