ACPI question
After recent upgrade to GCC-4.3 lots of things seem broken, acpid is one package that doesn't build for me.
Q: Do I need acpid if I have ACPI support enabled in kernel? Is acpid offering additional functionality?

Can I delete my posts? No? I guess I have to answer it then.
I was browsing bugs.gentoo.org and somebody wrote there acpid is not needed with ACPI in kernel. I posted here without thinking first. Now, after some reflection I'd say acpid listens for ACPI events like powerbutton, etc. ACPI support in kernel is needed for acpid to run.
