    gnome won't emerge

    Okay this is the contents of make make.conf
    Code:
    # These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
    # built this stage.
    # Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example.
    CFLAGS="-O2 -mtune=i686 -pipe"
    CXXFLAGS="-O2 -mtune=i686 -pipe"
    # WARNING: Changing your CHOST is not something that should be done lightly.
    # Please consult http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/change-chost.xml before changing.
    CHOST="i486-pc-linux-gnu"
    USE="-qt3 -qt4 -arts -kde X dbus gtk gnome hal avahi alsa"
    I added alsa because the gnome buildlogs were talking about it last time it crashed. This time it's talking about the deskbar.

    buildlogs can be found
    http://logs.binaryspike.com/build.log.txt

    environment can be found
    http://logs.binaryspike.com/environment.txt

    My goal is to get gnome up, sapphire ati x1650 pro drivers, compiz fusion, then get ati drivers, firefox, flash and java working. So family use the server to play flash games and do normal browsing.

    Thanks for the help!

    I fixed this, however I am having other issue's.

    I added -deskbar to my make.conf and it compiled fine (however, I didn't see any -deskbar when I did emerge -av gnome, so I am not sure if I'm missing the deskbar or what...)
