    emerging dev-java/ant-core-1.7.1-r2 on gentoo

I'm new to Gentoo, though not to Linux, my goal is to switch over most, preferably all, my work applications to Linux (I'm a translator). I'm trying to install app-text/omegat (1.8.1_p01), my problem is that before installing it, portage tries to emerge dev-java/ant-core-1.7.1-r2, which as far as I can see, seems to be marked stable. build-log file contains the following:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/bin/java-config-2", line 8, in <module>

Hi and Welcome to Linuxforums, if you notice the output of emerge
Have you upgraded python recently but haven't run python-updater yet?
I think you should try running python-updater, just to be sure.
I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
All new users please read this.** Forum FAQS. ** Adopt an unanswered post.

I actually tried that before with no success, but I decided to give it another try, paying more attention this time to any messages, python-updater ran and gave me an error about not finding an update for cracklib 2.8.10, so I checked and saw there was a newer version available, I emerged it, ran python-updater again, and it worked perfectly. Then I tried "emerge omegat" again, and it worked this time, many thanks from a very happy translator!
