[SOLVED] another failure to emerge libusb
I'm having problems installing libusb, very similar to a problem posted a few weeks ago, but the solution there doesn't seem to apply, as I'm not using any overlays. Here is the end of the build log, the actual compiling seems to work fine.
And here is the output from emerge --info. Seemed to give useful information in the previous thread I mentioned, so maybe it will again?Code:>>> Completed installing libusb-0.1.12-r1 into /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/libusb-0.1.12-r1/image/ strip: i686-pc-linux-gnu-strip --strip-unneeded -R .comment lib/libusb-0.1.so.4.4.4 lib/libusbpp-0.1.so.4.4.4 usr/lib/libusb.a usr/lib/libusbpp.a removing executable bit: usr/lib/libusb.la removing executable bit: usr/lib/libusbpp.la ^G * QA Notice: Missing gen_usr_ldscript for libusb.so ^G * QA Notice: Missing gen_usr_ldscript for libusbpp.so * * ERROR: dev-libs/libusb-0.1.12-r1 failed. * Call stack: * misc-functions.sh, line 717: Called install_qa_check * misc-functions.sh, line 329: Called die * The specific snippet of code: * [[ ${abort} == "yes" ]] && die "add those ldscripts" * The die message: * add those ldscripts * * If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant. * A complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/libusb-0.1.12-r1/temp/build.log'. * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/libusb-0.1.12-r1/temp/environment'. *

fixed...
It's fixed. Just had to update portage. This was one of the first things I tried, but I didn't think to first run emerge --sync first.
