Issues installing GRUB
So after a lot of distro-hopping due to being new to Linux, I decided to give installing Gentoo a shot. All has been well up to now, however when I tried to use the automatic method of installing GRUB, I got this error:
So I decided to use the manual method, by installing it from the GRUB terminal, but this came up:Code:grub-install --no-floppy /dev/sda Could not find device for /boot: Not found or not a block device.
Does anyone know what the problem is? I've searched the internet for hours and come up dry so far. If you need any other information, please let me know. Cheers.Code:grub> root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83 grub> setup (hd0) Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... no Checking if "/grub/stage1" exists... no Error 15: File not found

Ok try this
grub-install --no-floppy /dev/hdaSome people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.
