how to run firefox 3.6

You'll probably need to give more details before anyone can help you.
Did you install the new Firefox using emerge, or you just downloaded it and haven't installed it yet?
What do you mean your computer isn't recognizing it? Are you getting error messages saying it doesn't recognize it, or any messages at all?
Did you start the new Firefox with a fresh .mozilla profile?
More details are needed to get a better understanding of what might be going on.oz

I understand that you downloaded and installed firefox 3.6 and set it as the default browser. Your distribution automatically loads another browser when you doubleclick on a html file? Which distribution are you using? Are Kurtyou using gnome, kde, or something else?
