Problem with Docbook-xml-dtd
Every time I try to emerge docbook-xml-dtd, an error occurs:
Add Command Failed. It repeats several times, and emerge thinks that everything is succesful. However, emerging scrollkeeper reveals that Docbook-xml-dtd is not functioning, as the /etc/xml/catalog file is empty. Can anybody help me? I need to get scrollkeeper working so I can use Icewm and Gnome. Thanks,
Jesse

If no one can figure out the problem, could someone just email me a precompiled version of docbook-xml-dtd? Then I could at least get going with my system. My email is: jessdog AT ftml.net. Thanks.

Can you post an output of the emerge (at least a little) of docbook-xml-dtd?

emerge output
Okay, here's the entire output of emerge. However, it might also help to clarify my system config, since it's a bit nonstandard. I installed from a Reiser4 live cd, used a stage 3 tarball, and am using Nitro sources. My make.conf contains the following nonstandard lines:
CFLAGS="-03 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer -ffast-math -malign-double -msse -mfpmath=sse"
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"
That said, here's the log:

That output is odd and very unhelpful.

Try deleting the tarball from distfiles? Also you may want to rm -rf /var/tmp/portage/*
Do you have a previous version installed?
OT - nonstandard? bleh...I run nitro1-2.6.9-rc4 on all reiser4, stage1 with harder CFLAGS.

problems
Yeah, I just nuked that install. I think I'll start over with Stage 1. Thanks for your help,
Jesse
BTW, what CFLAGS did you use?
- 11-11-2004 #7I've been using those for about a year now (give or take). They do break some things, so I usually just switch down to -march, -O3, -fomit-frame-pointer and -pipe in those cases. I really need to tweak them again soon...*puts that on his To-Do List*Code:
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer -fforce-addr -fprefetch-loop-arrays -pipe -mmmx -funroll-loops -m3dnow -finline-functions -m3dnow -mfpmath=sse,387 -finline-functions"

I'll have to give that a try.

I was having the same problem
I ended up running:
to fix it.Code:rm -f /etc/xml/catalog /etc/xml/docbook
Note for other google searches:
This also fixed a kdebase compilation issue I was having with
causing the build to fail.Code:Entity xxx not defined
