I can't seem to use "emerge sync" after I chroot and env-update, somehow, emerge sync returns with errors, then it retries for another 3 times...

    or if you're behind a firewall, maybe you need to do emerge webrsync ?

    cos if you go to the gentoo site, there's loads of docs to read that's gonna be either in "the gentoo handbook" or the portage docs
