    Linpus clone


    Hi,

    I would like to create a desktop that behaves like Linpus. How could it be done with gentoo?

    Any direction how to start would be appreciated.

    What behavior are you looking for? The simple mode interface?

    Otherwise, Linpus, at least as released on netbooks, is based on Fedora 8 with the XFCE desktop.

    The "simple mode" is somewhat similar to the new Unity and GNOME Shell interfaces. I don't think Unity has been ported to Gentoo, but GNOME3 should be available, or will be soon.

    KDE4 also has a similar interface mode.

    Or for a lightweight option, there's LXDE's LXLauncher.
