Samsung CLX-3185 printer only prints black & cyan

I cannot get my samsung clx-3185 to work properly in linux. Works fine in windoze, but I only use windows for games! the installer from the samsung site is crap and doesn't work.

found an ebuild on the net that uses 1.05, but 1.13 is released and can't seem to get it work. 1.05 ebuild prints but only in black and cyan.

I'm dying to get this printer working correctly! any help or previous experience is much appreciated!

Looking around the web it looks like it works perfect in Ubuntu so I'll look around a bit to see how to get it working in gentoo, I'm positive it's possible I just don't run Gentoo (or have that printer) so it's a bit hard to figure it out

Thanx dude. I honestly don't like ubuntu or debian based systems so switching is out of the question, no offense. Their package management is too fragmented. I prefer 1 package for k3b as to 5 packages if you know what I mean. I do appreciate you helping me tho

I'm no linux n00b, so feel free to hit me with technical ideas as well .

yeah I haven't found anything. I was just saying IF it works in one distro it must be able to work in another. Now how it works in Ubuntu (and a lot of people say it works out of the box on Ubuntu 11.04) is the real question. Finding out how means you can replicate on gentoo.....I'll post if I stumble across something

I've now extracted and placed the files from the debian packages in their place. Rebooted, reinstalled printer, etc. Still only prints in cyan and black!
