    Using kernel from live cd

Can I use the kernel that the live cd uses? What I mean is the kernel from the /boot directory on the live cd. It's called "gentoo".
I want to do this because for one it's already compiled and two, it's auto-detecting my hardware.

you should be able to... mount --rbind /usr/src /mnt/gentoo/cdsrcs

then when chrooted copy the /usr/src/linux from cd to chroot env's /usr/src/linux, then issue make install.... then you'll need the initramfs and bootloader configurations. funtoo's stage3's ship with pre rolled debian kernels.
