No Keyboard
A couple of days ago I was using gtk-gnutella, then suddenly yesterday gnutella didn't work anymore. Error messages said that it was out of date and needed to be upgraded. So... I did rsync... then 'emerge -Du gtk-gnutella'. Not suprisingly there were about 30 dependencies that needed to be updated too, since I hadn't updated my system in a while. once everything was finished, X wouldn't load. It says that the keyboard module doesn't exist. Upon searching I found where it does exist. now I'm stuck. Is there a certain place that X looks for the mod?... I'm not sure where to start.

I don't know exactly what's happening in this situation, but when I upgraded Xorg, it moved it to /usr/lib rather than /usr/lib/X11R6, try adding /usr/lib to your modulepath in your xorg.conf file.

Change the line in your xorg.conf that reads like this:
to this:Code:Driver "keyboard"
Code:Driver "kbd"
"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so."

Works now
Thanks ... gnutella still doesn't work but... the keyboard does now and X is running. Thanks again!

Re: Works now
NP. It drove me crazy when they changed that. Gotta love it when devs change things like this and expect everyone to read the CHANGELOG to see it.
