Gentoo on 1cd?

that would've been the universal live cd 650 mb or so, the minimal is 50mb, I had to dl the stage 1 tarball from a mirror.

aha! Ok. Allow me to amend my above statements to avoid confusion. I recommend the universal live CD, or VidaLinux, not the minimal CD.

Do I need an Internet connection to fully install Gentoo?

If u just want the VERY base install u wont need the net (assumin u get the Universal disc) i think, but to get a working system with X u will need the net as it will need to download the tarballs it needs

definately use the minimal live cd and an active internet connection, the results are well worth it
