    Need help with unmerging

I tried unmerging gnome like this

    Code:
    emerge --unmerge gnome
All it does is get rid of a few python lib's that are not particualy needed....my guess is you have to list several gnome components to unmerge it all

I found a way yesterday which seemed to get rid of all the gnome-enviroment:
    Code:
    su
    cd /usr/portage/gnome-extra/
    emerge unmerge *
    cd /usr/portage/gnome-base/
    emerge unmerge *
If you intend to run gnome-apps which is allready installed, or dependency-problems should arrise afterwords, try running this command:
    Code:
emerge --deep --newuse -u --ask world
