gentoo install problem
this is my first time installing gentoo and i'm stuck on choosing a kernal when i go to emerge gentoo-sources i keep getting time out so i tried to manually select a server but the strange thing is the ip address always seems to be the same which is 1.0.0.0 and i always get timed out error , ive checked my network settings and they are all ok , any ideas were i'm going wrong.

did you copy your /etc/resolv.conf file over to /mnt/gentoo/etc? If you did then run this on the livecd, net-setup eth0, after that ping a site or try links, then overwrite your resolv.conf in your new enviroment with the livecd's.
*Oh btw, it's kernel, not kernal.Ma homeboy is Jesus himself.
