i want to know before i install gentoo, ... does gentoo support any type of soundblaster live, without having to manually install the drivers. In fedora core 3, i was having sum trouble getting my sound to work with my soundblaster card so ijust took it out and my default soundcard worked just fine.

Well when you will compile your kernel you have to compile the module for emu10k1 chipset in device drivers->sound-> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture->PCI devices-><M> Emu10k1 (SB Live!, Audigy, E-mu APS)
and then you will have to follow the http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml guide and everything is okQ: what\'s tiny and yellow and very, very, dangerous?
A: a canary with the super-user password.
