    distcc and distccKnippox

I was wondering if anyone had experianced any success with gentoo and distccKnoppix, I have read that some of the latest gcc patches for gentoo are not applied to distccknoppix's version of gc, thus making them incompatable, but at the same time, other links seem to report success with this...

    Just wondering.

    No luck here.

I really like the idea of being able to crosscompile packages and it would have really come in handy to have distcc when I was emerging my PII 450Mhz server, but I tried for several hours (using distccKnoppix) to no avail. Needless to say the server compiled itself and works like a charm.

Never used the knoppix version, but distCC in general worked flawlessly for me when I used it across a few Gentoo boxen.
