    network card software switch?



    asking as part of my quest to solve networking questions in this post:

    well ive noticed that in windows, the little "wifi" LED lights up when i boot, but when i boot linux, the LED doesn't. currently ipw2200 isn't working so im wondering if its not working becasue the software switch is off, or if the software switch is not working becasue ipw2200 isnt. if it happens to be that ipw2200 isnt working because of the software switch, how can i get this switch to turn on?

    just dont know with a mini-pci card but i would think they would light up with the intel driver
