Yesterday I installed (emerged) knights but the computer doesn't play . I used 'phalanx' as the engine and 'computer' as the opponent, but after starting the game with a move, the 'computer' doesn't respond, and eventually times out after 15 minutes.

I then tried installing the 'gnuchess' engine.........same problem!

Any ideas?

Permissions ARE set for 'games'.



EDIT: did a search for gnuchess on pc and found it in '/usr/games/bin/gnuchess' and entered this in 'engine filename' under "settings -> configure knights -> computer opponents -> (select gnuchess) -> modify' and now can play
