no device wlan0
Hi,
Im trying to get my wireless card (d-ling dwl-g630 rev b) working with gentoo. So far i have done the following
#ndiswrapper -i drivername
#ndiswrapper -l (shown the driver and hardware is fine)
#iwconfig wlan0 essid ap_name
then i get an error saying that wlan0 doesnt exist.
Any ideas on why it wouldnt exist? I could guess that because wireless support isnt built into the kernel, but id like your opinions before i delve in.
Thanks

Check in "ifconfig" for which names the devices are given... When I sat up wlan with ndiswrapper on my cousins box, I managed to name it "eth1". And it worked fine.
