i have experimented with alot of distros and i just wanted to know if gentoo uses binaries(such as rpm or deb)or does emerge take care of everthing?...

emerge takes care of everything and compiles from source unless you do emerge -k <pkg_name> then if there is a bin available it will use it but there is no real reason to do that since emerge dose the install for you unless you want it a bit faster than compiling from source

i think you can install dpkg and yum on the system
it is all gnu/linux
but no need
cause emerge is freeeeking powerful
as loft306 says
