run xorgcfg to get a preliminary config that you may have to manually edit...if the screen is working save the changes and manually edit the path to the mouse to be /dev/input/mice...then save the changes from within xorgcfg and edit your rc.conf file to autostart your desire XSESSION, then startx, easy as pie...
