I'm trying to figure out where my USB hard drive (MP3 player) is located. That is, where do I mount it from? Here's a log today right after I plugged it in and it was detected.

my thumbdrive (same idea) is located at /dev/sda1
you can try that...not sure if it'll work though

From the log it looks like there is some error in transferring data. I use the dbus/hal/ivman setup and when detected mine becomes /dev/sda1 with an automount defined in fstab

Use the command "mount" before and after you plug it in. Any new item after it is plugged in will be the new drive. Of course this will only work if it's been automounted...
