Did you burn the ISO as an image or did you just burn the actual ISO to the disk? There might be an option for image burning with your burning program. If you did burn it as an image, did you get any error messages?

did you do a md5sum check on the iso you downloaded to make sure that everything was downloaded correctly? If so and it was ok. Try burning again on a low speed (like 2x) and like bryansmith said burn as image. Try nero if you have windows this seems to work for everybody who uses it.
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

Did you check the integrity of the ISO? Did you have any complications during the download?

You can try putting the gentoo CD into your drive and doing:
    Code:
    diff /dev/cdrom image.iso
Where /dev/cdrom is your cdrom devices and image.iso is the name of the iso.

As I understand, he's on Windows.

I would recommend trying MagicISO, you can get a free trial easily, and it has never failed for me.
