Setting "-target" and "-source" [SOLVED]
Hey all. I'm having an issue emerging dev-java/jakarta-regexp, and though I've found a solution, I can't understand how to go about it.
The issue is documented at:
http://forums.gentoo.org//viewtopic-...1f58636787aee4
Following the link in the last post there, the solution is to set "-source".
I have absolutely no idea what this means or how to go about it. Can anyone tell me how to do this and what a compatible value is?
Thanks!DISTRO=Arch

I think all you need to do is download a 1.4 version of JRE from sun page and then when you emerge type emerge sun-jre-specific version like 14.1334 (or whatever it is) This will tell portage to install this version instead of newest. Try that and then remerging your package.
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

And, as my problems tend to be, my error was in fact quite simple: I never "etc-update"d.
