out of diskspace {solved}
i noticed on my desklets that about every hour or two i lost 1gb of memory on my hdd. i just restarted my computer because it was running very poorly and once i tried logging it it said it could complete the login because i was out of disk space. i know i didnt have 80gbs worth of stuff on my computer...so what do i do?

Is there anything big in /tmp ?

i deleted all the big stuff in tmp and im switching to xfce because its lighter than gnome

/var/tmp can also get quite full on gentoo boxes, especially if you've quit an emerge in the middle, or it crashed before it was complete.

also I deleted all the unnessesary movies I had and that freed up about 5gbs.
