is it possible?
is it possible to install gentoo from my kubuntu desktop, because i am using ndiswrapper for my internet connection, which is something that i cant do on the gentoo live CD... i dont really know how to explain this, but i would like to install from inside the KDE environment, at least for the first steps, and i need to rollover my internet connection... jeez.... this is harder to explain than i thought!, well, i guess my point is, can this be done?

Yes indeed! One beautiful thing about Gentoo is that the LiveCD doesn't actually contain any packages, just rather gives you a boot environment.
Are you overwriting Kubuntu, or installing Gentoo in addition? If the former, you'll need Knoppix, otherwise you can do it right from Kubuntu.
Basically, just open a terminal and do everything from that. Including the chroot and all that. You'll basically follow the instructions at:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/altinstall.xml#doc_chap3
Just use Kubuntu instead of Knoppix.DISTRO=Arch

Testing? What's that? If it compiles, it is good, if it boots up, it is perfect. ~ Linus Torvalds
