iwconfig hangs
I recently got my Gentoo install up and running. I have the IPW2200 wireless card. I emerged the drivers for it and the firmware, and I had to upgrade udev so I could load the firmware because my udev version was buggy >=O
So now when I boot, I want to see if it's working properly, so I can configure the essid, channel, wpa key, etc. for it. I checked dmesg first, nothing there about my wireless card that was bad, it said it detected it and all. But when I run iwconfig, it just hangs there. ^D, ^Z, etc. won't even cancel it.
So any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

What versions of the software are you running?
I have the same card and I am using the following:
net-wireless/ipw2200-1.0.10
net-wireless/ipw2200-firmware-2.4
sys-fs/udev-079-r1
You also have to load ipw2200 module, I strongly suggest you add it to your /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
