when i get errors like that, usually switching to a different mirror or running emerge --sync fixes it up for me.

Ok but as i said im still in command mode as the gentoo install is on another box,
So if i was to emerge xorg-x11 from one of your stated mirrors what would the type be,
emerge xorg-x11 <mirror>??

Ok i worked that out and it didnot work,
But i managed to catch this in the error if its any help ,
Code:/lib/GL/glx/glapi_x86.S modification time please use 5.1e+07 s in the future.

Well Ive worked that out it was a system time problem,My box went back to 2001,Just using the "date" command did not resolve the error,I had to change it in the bios,Any way xorg-x11 emerged,But now i'm trying to resolve this,
Thats what i get when useing X -configure.Code:Duplicate symbol __1686.get_pc_thunk.bx in /usr/lib/modules/fonts/libbitmap.a.bl module load Failure
