you missed the most obvious thing, you've all misspelled bzImage. note the capital "i" (I). it MUST be Code: cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/kernel-2.6.15-gentoo-r1 notice the capital I in bzImage....

    Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
    Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
    Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?

    I got it compiled and everything but i have to boot it from the old initramfs because the new one doesnt exsit. Also sould i copy the needed modules in
    etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 and if so what modules do i need?
