Hello!

Sorry if this turns into a long post... I learned about Gentoo on another thread, http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...ed-distro.html
and I am getting ready to install on Sunday when my wife goes to Busch Gardens. I currently use Linux not only as my main Internet/Email machine, but also as my data storage server. I am currently running FC3, and I make use of the sotware RAID mirroring, I will paste my partioning scheme at the end of this post. I downloaded and printed out the Gentoo handbook, and I am not seeing anything about RAID in the manual. I am in the process of backing up all my data and burning it to DVD for safe keeping, I am not sure if I would be better off wiping every partition and starting from scratch, or trying to keep the existing partitions with the mirrored data on them and just killing /var /home and /usr. I am leaning towards wanting to wipe everything out, set up my partitions and mirrors, and then restoring my data, but I could be swayed either way.

Also, I wasn't sure if the Gentoo Universal install CD has the RAID tools included or if I will need to download them seperately.
