the offical one doesnt work for me...and to clarify i want aol instant messenger clients not jabber or msn or yahoo.

The AIM client doesn't work for you? What happens? Also, did you use Portage to install it?

out of curiosity, why don't you like gaim?
Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
