I recently got framebuffer support for my console working, so I have a bootlogo and a nice resolution. However, the little blinking indicator that tells where your "cursor" is is not working.

When I am regularly in the console, it appears about 8 lines or so above where it should be. This begins when I attempt to log in: the username and password appear in the correct locations, but the cursor is moving about 8 lines up.

When I use a program like vim, the cursor is not there at all.

This is soley a console problem: in X, everything is fine.


Does anyone know how to go about solving this?
