Unhappy problem with grub... i think...

Im new to linux. i just started using fedora core 5 about a month ago, but i wanted to switch to gentoo because it's better.

Anyway, i went through the whole install process up to the part where i am supposed to first reboot my system.

When grub came up, there wer a bunch of lines going down the screen and it said

    Booting 'Gentoo Linux 2.6.17-r4'

    root(hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0X83
    kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.17-gentoo-r4 root=/dev/hda3

    Error 15: File not found

    Press any key to continue...

please help me because i really dont want all this time i put into the installation to go to waist.

    thanks

    Look at this tutorial.
    http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...d-edition.html
About 1/3 of the way down you will see where Nerderello gives in struction on how to find /boot/grub/stage1 and so on.
Error 15 normally means that you have something wrong in your grub entry.
Hopefully the solution will be so easy.
