    installation freezes on step 14

    why my istallation stops on emerge kernel sources>

    the same happens when trying to install vanilla kernel

    emerging sys kernel /vanilla sources 2.6.15.3

    does it freezes or needs more time?

    ok i got this error

    there was an exeption received during the install blah blah
    the error was emerge package error FATAL emerge could not emerge sys kernel /genkernel 3.3.11

    please help!!!

    what to do?

    Download the newest version here, you probably want the LiveCD (if you have a pentium-type computer, or a 32-bit AMD). Then follow the instructions here to the letter

    Now another 10+ for xwindows. Add another 10 for Gnome or KDE. Plus around 8 for OpenOffice...
