    What terminals do you try? What desktop environment? What happens (do they just not open)?

    Ive try gnome-terminal, xterm, and tilda, ive got gnome with metacity and they just don't open

    Switch to a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and try running
    Code:
    revdep-rebuild
    If that doesn't work, then just re-emerge xterm from that same screen. All the other terminals are just basically "covers" over xterm.
