Ok, worked. but when I insert a CD it says I don't have the privilegies to mount the CD although I have added "user" to the option column in fstab!

Um, fstab won't affect whether icons are made on the desktop. It will mount those devices at boot time if they're plugged in, so go ahead with that if you like the idea.
For getting icons on the desktop, I found a lead in the last post of this thread. It's worth looking at.

The icons get in the desktop as (I think) gnome detect everything in /mnt and sets a shortcu in the desktop. My only problem now are CDs
