    About Gnome desktop

    Hi folks,

    Gentoo_64
    Gnome-light

    Gnome desktop

    On Desktop --> Administration --> there is only 1 item "Login Window"

    clicking it starting;
    Code:
    Could not launch menu item
Details: Failed to execute child process "gdmsetup" (No such file or directory)
    Please advise how to fix it. What package shall I install to have other items under "Administration"?

    gnome-base/control-center , it is easier to install whole Gnome and get all the goodies

    I'll try later. I'm now not working on Gentoo.

    it is easier to install whole Gnome and get all the goodies
    My problem is I have some packages installed. If erasing "gnome-light" would those packages removed as well? TIA

    You don't need to remove gnome-light to install gnome. Some packages from gnome were installed by gnome-light but not all. emerge gnome to get the rest of the packages
