I have a notebook that I write all of the important stuff in so that I can remember it next time (because there is always a next time here, lol).
On a positive note, I just got the base gentoo install back on my laptop.

lol i have several such note-books (computer tech). it is never ending. when will they come up with smart-media cards that are compatible with my brain? also, try sabayon. it is completely compatible with gentoo and it is stable, looks cool, and has a decent starter soft package.

I have tried sabayon, but it is not for me. I like regular gentoo. I have been using gentoo for years, so there is really no need for me to switch to an offspring.
On another note, I got my synaptics touchpad to recognize all of the corner "hot-spots" when I click on them. I can now use my touchpad to go back and forth while browsing or managing files just by clicking on whatever corner I map it to.
Also, I got my integrated camera working.
The only thing that I don't have working (because I haven't had time yet) is hibernate/suspend. I will get that in due time.
