ok, well.. i did a emerge -avt World that all went through fine, said to etc-update and env-update, did both, and went to restart xdm only to get this error ...

    boot error


    ok, well.. i did a emerge -avt World

    "dependancy info is missing! please run
    # /sbin/depscan.sh
    to fix this"

    i do so, nothing happens, restart, and...
    most of my modules don't load any more, just

    afew time befor givng me a login terminal, to which i have lost my computer's host name and such, but yes... any suggestions?

    How did you run etc-update? And what I mean is what option did you choose when you updated the files. Like if you did a "-5" then all your config files were replaced with defaults.
