ALSA issues in kernel configuration
Hi all, new to Gentoo. I have started to follow the ALSA guide here http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml . I have gotten to where I am supposed to enable my sound card with genkernel. I have looked through all of the menus and cannot find PCI devices ----> so I cannot enable my card. I know i have VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller.
Is there another way to do this or some sort of work around? Thanks!--Erik

Have you tied manually building your kernel, instead of genkernel?
I am new to gentoo myself, but I have built a few kernels in my time and it's not really that hard.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
All new users please read this. and the Forum FAQS.

Haven't tried it, good suggestion. I'm gonna read up and if it's not too hard give it a shot.
