Botched GRUB config on install
Well, I seemingly got Gentoo to install pretty smoothly... was pretty excited, and then I rebooted, and when on reboot everything came up fine, the GRUB screen came up, and I picked out the OS I wanted to boot in, and was greeted with this wonderful error.

I was so close to booting into Gentoo... I was pretty disgusted with myself when I came to that error, i imagine it's fixable though... so i got to thinking and I realized I might have made a mistake when creating the GRUB configuration file (at least I hope)... So, my question is, what is the easiest way to fix this? How would I get back to the point where I can edit the GRUB config file, and if needed reinstall GRUB to fix this. Or if anyone wants to suggest any other recourse I am open to suggestions as I am a newb when it comes to this, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated.Code:Booting 'Gentoo Linux 2.6.20-r8' root (hd1,0) Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7 kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.20-gentoo-r8 root=/dev/sda3 Error 17: Cannot mount selected partition Press any key to continue...
Thanks,
Dustin.

Hi !
is sda3 root partition? in GRUB Menu. highlight Gentoo title and press e. select kernel line and press e again. add keyword ro at the end of kernel line and replace sda3 with correct 'root' partition. hit Enter key and press b. if Gentoo boots up, edit grub.conf file and correct kernel line.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
