After install error
I installed the OS and everything was running perfectly fine. But when I select Gentoo in Grub. It starts to load it properly. But I get an error message that says:
This is the second time that I tried to install it and I got the same error the first time. What am I doing wrong. I am dual booting with Windows XP.
mount: Mounting devfs on /dev failed: No such devices
Error opening file: ".devfsd" No such file or directory

>>Block device /dev/hda4 is not a valid root device...
>>The root block device is unspecified or not detected.
Please specify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell...
I figured it out. Forgot to add udev to my grub.conf. Im so stupid sometimes.
Now im getting an error message that says:
This comes up before the login prompt. How do I rid myself of this message. Thank you
ERROR: Problem starting needed services
"netmount" was not started.
Find out which module the livecd has loaded for your network-card, with the help of "lsmod", and try compiling it into your kernel. Also make sure your /etc/conf.d/net is OK, compare it to the one in the manual.
PS: There should be added a sticky thread explaining this since this is the most common reason of posting in the gentoo-section I beleve...
If netmount is not loading and you want to get rid of it, you can always just use rc-update to remove it from bootup.
