Check linux symlink in /usr/src
When you did an update it may have installed a new kernel. If it did, it probably updated the "/usr/src/linux" symlink to point to the new kernel.
However, you want "/usr/src/linux" to point to the kernel that you're using. So you don't want "/usr/src/linux" to point to the new kernel unless and until you've compiled and installed the new kernel.
You can find out which kernel you're currently using by typing "uname -r".
Look in "/usr/src" for a directory "linux-that_same_version". That directory will contain a ".config" file, because you did compile and install that kernel.
Update "/usr/src/linux" to point to that directory.
