gentoo installation on sata hard disk

Download the Gentoo ISO file, burn the file to a blank CD as an image. Insert the CD into your CD drive and reboot from that drive. It's always wise to read over the Gentoo documentation on their website before beginning your install. I've always printed out the handbook before installing Gentoo, but I'm not sure that it's still needed.
